It seems that no matter what direction we turn right now, the media is blasting us with their message of gloom and doom. Yes, our President-elect has challenges ahead of him, yes the housing market is in the toilet from the national perspective, yes we are hearing about bail outs in numbers that most of us cannot really get our arms around.
So what possible bright side could there be, you ask?
The Seattle area, on a local level, is doing better (if not the best) than other metropolitan cities. But a claim like that is like saying your team won this year’s Apple Cup.
You can’t sell your house for the price you want, but you can stay there. You love the neighborhood, the schools, the people…and the house almost works for you, and could be great, with some improvements. Well, borrowing money is still a possibility at historically low rates, which means you CAN make your house a home by updating the kitchen or adding a playroom for the kids (so you can reclaim your living room).
On top of that, it is common knowledge that the housing market (even locally) is down significantly from where it was a year or two ago. What does that mean for you as the consumer? Well, the competitiveness of the market directly impacts the pricing you’ll get (and we’ve been getting). Our numbers are currently coming in tighter and better for the consumer, than we’ve seen in years.
Additionally, oil prices have declined. This is reflected on many items in the way of fuel surcharges that we are no longer seeing and petroleum based building products (roofing, carpet, vinyl windows) are decreasing in their cost. So really, it is a great time to remodel.
Lakeville considers our team members and our clients family. Out on the field, the guy who’s been with us the shortest amount of time is looking at 5 years. And amongst our clients, we are currently working with one who is starting their 3rd remodel with us, not to mention the multi-generational clients we have served. We work hard to breed loyalty, earn trust and to take care of one another.
Our success is based on the pride and love our team has for what they do, and the referrals and repetition of content customers. We hope to be able to support you through these difficult times and thank you for all you have done for us. We hope to continue to serve you for many years to come.
So the true bright side? We have you and we all have each other.
